We read every message. To help us fix a problem quickly, please tell us:

  • your phone or tablet model and its Android or iOS version;
  • the game's version number (Android: Settings > Apps > Bonkleville; iPhone: Settings > General > iPhone Storage > Bonkleville);
  • what you were doing and what went wrong, and a screenshot if you can;
  • for online problems, the room code, your player code (Settings > SAVE & PRIVACY) and roughly when it happened (with your time zone).

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account?

No. You can play everything without signing up, online too. When you first play online, Unity, our online service provider, creates an anonymous player ID for your copy of the game. It isn't linked to your name or email address. Settings > SAVE & PRIVACY shows the last 6 characters of it as your player code, and its DELETE ONLINE DATA button deletes it (see Delete your account and data below).

On Android, players aged 13 and over can also link a free Unity account in LOCKER > FRIENDS to keep a friends list. On iPhone, this version has no account sign-in: play with friends using a room code.

Why does the game ask my age?

The first time you open the game it asks how old you are. Your answer stays on your device; we never receive it. Players under 13 can play every mode, but they get a name picked from a list instead of typing one, and they play with friends using room codes instead of a friends list.

What is my online name?

Every online player has a name that the other players in the room can see. To change yours, go to LOCKER > EDIT NAME.

Please don't use your real name.

Can other players talk to me?

No. There is no text or voice chat. Other players in your room see your online name and your fighter. During online matches, players can only send four preset reactions: "Hello!", "Nice bonk!", "Oops!" and "Good game!". To hide them, go to Settings > PLAYER REACTIONS.

Someone has a rude or upsetting name

In the room's player list, tap the flag button next to their name.

We look at every report and use them to improve the name filter.

Someone is spoiling a public party. What can I do?

Leave the room (you can join another party straight away), hide their name and mute reactions if you like. If something seems wrong, report the name, or email us the room code and the time it happened.

How do I play with friends?

Everyone needs an internet connection and the same version of the game. If the game says "Build versions do not match", update the game on both devices from Google Play or the App Store and try again.

I used a Unity account on another phone

On Android, go to LOCKER > FRIENDS and tap "I USED AN ACCOUNT ON ANOTHER PHONE: SIGN IN". Your online name and friends come back. Story progress and coins stay on each phone: this version has no cloud save.

What is "Find a Party"?

On HOME, choose BATTLE > FIND A PARTY and tap PLAY to join a public match with other players. If not enough people are online, spare seats are filled by computer players after about 30 seconds, so a match always starts. Computer players have game-style names, like the picked names real players use. The next match starts automatically, and you can leave at any time.

What is Arcade?

On HOME, choose ARCADE. You have one life: stomp the Tidy-Bots for points while the lava waits below, and see how far you get. It gets harder as you go. Pick an arena; your best score is kept. Arcade works offline.

How do I get coins, and what are they for?

You earn coins by playing: battles, Arcade, Adventure missions and one-time goals. Tap + next to your coins to see every way to earn. Spend them in the SHOP on Adventure supplies and music records. This version has no way to buy coins with money.

How do music records work?

SHOP > MUSIC has 19 records. One is free; the others cost coins. Tap a record's play button to hear a preview first. Equip a record in the LOCKER and it plays on every screen. You can turn the music off there too. The music comes from Pixabay; each record shows its artist.

Where is my progress saved? Can I move it to a new phone?

Story progress, coins, records and settings are saved on your device only. This version has no cloud save, so progress doesn't move between devices by itself, and deleting the game deletes your progress. If your phone's own backup is turned on (Google backup or iCloud), restoring that backup to a new phone may bring the save with it.

Do I need the internet?

Only for online play (FIND A PARTY, FRIENDS ROOM and online story co-op) and the friends list. The tutorial (GUIDE > PLAY THE TUTORIAL), Adventure missions, Arcade and PRACTICE WITH BOTS work offline.

My friend can't join my room

Check that you are both online, using the same version of the game, and typing the code exactly. If it still fails, leave the room, create a new one and share the new code. Switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data can also help.

The game is slow or my phone gets warm

Open Settings (the gear at the top of HOME), set FRAME RATE to 30, lower DETAIL, and turn on REDUCED MOTION. Closing other apps helps too.

The controls feel awkward

In Settings you can change TOUCH BUTTON SIZE, move the JUMP BUTTON to the other side, turn VIBRATION on or off, and switch the CAMERA view. Hold jump to jump higher.

Does the game cost anything?

No. The game is free to download. This version has no purchases, no ads and no loot boxes. Coins are earned by playing.

Delete your account and data

How to delete your online account and data for Bonkleville: Stomp Party by LandB Studios, in the game or without it.

What is online. Your online account is your player ID at Unity, our online service provider. Unity keeps your online name with it and, if you linked a Unity account on Android, your name tag, friends list, friend requests and blocks. Your story progress, coins, records and settings are never online; they are only on your device.

In the game (quickest): open Settings (the gear at the top of HOME) > SAVE & PRIVACY, tap DELETE ONLINE DATA, then tap it again to confirm. This permanently deletes your player ID with Unity, and with it your online name and tag and the friends information Unity keeps for that player. Leave any online room first: the button doesn't work while you're in one. Your story progress on the device stays, and the next time you play online you get a new player ID.

By email (no game needed): email [email protected] with the subject "Delete my Bonkleville data" and your player code from Settings > SAVE & PRIVACY (if no code is shown, open an online mode once, then look again). If you no longer have the game, include instead:

We will delete your player ID, the online name and tag stored with it, and your friends list, friend requests and blocks, and ask Unity to delete any related records it still holds. We'll reply within 30 days. If we can't find your record, we'll tell you.

What is kept, and for how long. Unity's service logs (Relay, lobby and gateway logs, which contain IP addresses or player IDs) are deleted automatically by Unity within 30 days; the button and our deletion don't remove them sooner. Your email to us is kept while we deal with it, then deleted within 12 months of closing the request.

Your Unity account (Android, only if you linked one). The Unity account you signed in with, and its email address, belongs to Unity, not to us. Deleting your game data doesn't delete it. To delete it, sign in at player-account.unity.com and choose Request Deletion.

On your device: delete the game. On Android you can also go to Settings > Apps > Bonkleville > Storage > Clear storage. This removes your progress, settings, age answer, online name and the sign-in token for your player ID. (It doesn't delete the ID on Unity's servers; use the button above first, or email us.)

Parents and guardians: if you believe a child under 13 played online, use DELETE ONLINE DATA on their device, or email us and we will delete the online information we can find.
